Especially us moms! Last weekend some of my girlfriends all got together and went out to lunch at Lupis and then headed next door to the pottery place and put some of our 3rd grade art skills to use.... Of course there were a couple of babies there and as Emily pointed out there will probably be more pictures of the babies then us.... love ya girl!

Ethan King - Baby Photographer- Chattanooga, TN - Diana Simpson Photography

Maddie my "assistant" and I spent the morning with most of the King family.  I have been trying to get to their house to get Ethan's 6 months photographs and it has only taken 2 months... Words can not express my love and appreciation for this family. God has blessed my families life so richly through each of them and we just love them all to pieces! I appreciate the time we get to spend with them and I am so happy to be able to document little Ethan's first year through our sessions together.

Baby Brown- Newborn Photographer - Chattanooga TN -Diana Simpson Photography

Today I meet the Brown family from Lookout Mountain. They had a little girl last week and she is just beautiful! Her big brother Carter just turned 2 last week and loved kissing and hugging his little sister. Kendall  & Shelly are great parents and make one adorable family.

The Shields Maternity Session

Thursday night I had the delight to meet and photograph the greatest couple. As you can tell from their session they have amazing smiles it was just contagious! They are expecting their first baby in October and I am so excited for them ( and to photograph little Abigail when she gets here). I know they are going to be great parents and she will be one lucky little girl.

Silhouettes 101

We are on the last day of vacation... this week just flew by too fast.  Last night we had an amazing sun set and as we were all hanging outside I got a few photographs of our guys playing b-ball and my sister in law ( who is due in Dec).

If you don't know how to take silhouette photographs.... here is a super quick lesson

1. Pick a subject or object that tells a story to you
2. Place them in front of a strong light source (the sun ..:)  (I usually try to place them directly in front of the sun to block it.) You will notice in the last 2 that I was going for a different look though..
3. Take your exposure reading from the light source - (not from the subject- you want the main subject to be very underexposed- black even!)
4. Focus on the subject and click away

Homeschooling...

Next week is the big week. We will start homeschooling the girls. K with Kenna and 1st grade with Madelyn... They were so excited to set up their new desks and wanted me to take a photograph to show their Atlanta and Ohio family. We set up our school room in one side of our dinning room. The boys have their own little area they can do "school work" with us as well... One day at a time is my motto!

Bubbles

We have been on vacation this last week until next week so I thought I would share a few photographs of the boys ( & Sarah) blowing bubbles - another family favorite! I went for a vintage feel on these so I hope you enjoy.

Lazy Days of Summer

My sweet little nephew came to town not too long ago and the kids and I spent the day at honey and poppies house.  Like most children my kids love to play in the water - any water . We go so many cute shots but I wanted to post some of the funniest ones. The first one is my mom and nephew. ( not one of the funny ones...)

Mom took this one when we went to eat and I just loved it of satchel.
Now to the funny ones....
I loved loved loved this one of satch running. A little naked bum I know he will hate me one day but it is just too funny not to post.

My mimi lives next door to my parents and one of the dogs from her house came over for a bit..

This one of Maddie cracked me up.

I thought this was funny cuz it almost looked like maddies legs were kennas legs...
